Selecting the appropriate lift design is key to delivering an efficient and commercially sound installation. The decision is not about one solution being better than the other, but about choosing the right fit for each project.

Symbio and Optimus are both gearless MR or MRL solutions, each suited to different shaft conditions and configuration requirements. The overview below highlights their key characteristics to support your choice.

Symbio: efficiency in standard shafts

Symbio is an electric lift designed for conventional shafts and straightforward configurations. Its main advantage lies in how it manages loads:

  • Sling car frame distributes the load evenly, reducing stress on the guide rails.
  • Reduced load on guide rails the rails perform a guiding rather than structural function. This allows for smaller sections, fewer fixings, and a faster installation.

To make the most of its potential, the following conditions should be considered:

  • Approximate minimum shaft size: 1240 × 1400 mm
  • Single or double entrances at 180°
  • Not suitable for adjacent entrances or complex configurations

Optimus: adaptability in confined spaces

If your project involves limited space or unusual access configurations, Optimus is the ideal solution. Its design focuses on maximising shaft utilisation:

  • Rucksack car frame allows three free sides of the car, with the guide rails bearing the load—resulting in higher structural demands
  • More robust guide rails and additional fixings: as the rails carry the load, larger sections are required
  • Improved space utilisation enables car sizes up to 15% larger within the same shaft
  • Maximum entrance flexibility supports adjacent double entrances at 90° or 270°, and even triple entrances

Conclusion: choose based on the project, not the model.

  • Choose Symbio when the shaft is standard and there are no adjacent entrances
  • Choose Optimus when space is limited, you need to maximise car size, or the building layout imposes constraints
